An ancient concept given by Hindu sages which addresses the present-day challenges, offering solutions like enriching bio-diversity, conserving native, vulnerable plant species with medicinal and healing properties, religious and spiritual significance, supports local fauna, encourages afforestation etc. 27 nakshatra trees and herbs, which in itself are mentioned in the Vedas and recommended according to the particular birth star. According to our belief each star is associated with a tree.
The Zodiac comprises of 12 Rashi signs, namely; Mesha, Vrishabha, Mithuna, Karkatak, Simha, Kanya, Tula, Vrishchika, Dhanu, Makara, Kumbha, and Meena. The nine grahas are Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Raahu & Ketu.
The Navagraha Vana is a selection of 27+12+9 each plants – trees, shrubs & grass to
be planted in the appropriate direction in a chakra symbol.
Similarly, we set up a “Nakshatra Rashi Graha Chakra Vana” in Yajna Bhoomi,
premises of Kavugoli Sri Shiva Temple, which would help devotees to perform poojas and
worship to the appropriate tree according to their birth star.
